Consciousness Wave Document — Metaphysical Exploration

This document presents a study from the Prima Consciousia research. ODCs explore at the limits of science, without mathematics, at the frontier of consciousness, in intention. The physical facts cited as reference come from the Æther documents.
There is one experience that every human lives through, every night, since the dawn of time — and that theories of consciousness struggle to explain: the dream.
Consider what is strange about dreams. In dreams, there is no gravity: we fly, we float, we fall without hurting ourselves. There is no place: we simply "are" elsewhere, without a journey. There is no linear time: the lived experience of the night does not measure itself by the body's clock.
Gravity, place, linear time. Remember this list: these are precisely the attributes of dense matter — and precisely the attributes missing from the quantum world, where superposition reigns (cf. AE-00), where gravity is merely a density of silence (cf. AE-01), where time is a cone that consciousness pivots (cf. AE-04).
And remember what our postulates say: the body is made of atoms, and the atom is more than 99.9999% empty — an ocean of quantum substrate, pinched into a few rare points of matter (cf. AE-00). The human is not "partly" quantum. It is almost entirely quantum, dressed in a film of density.
Every night, billions of humans visit a world without gravity, without place, without linear time. This is not a rare experience, reserved for a few witnesses. It is the most universally lived experience of the species — and no one is surprised.
We propose to be surprised, and to offer the most direct interpretation: the dream would be the re-coherence of consciousness. Each night, it would leave matter — the particle — to become wave again.
It would seem that asleep, consciousness returns to coherence: no more observation, no more measuring, no more forced decoherence. Superposition regained, several scenes at once, without place, without time. It would be on the wave side — and the world it would then visit would not be an imitation of the quantum world: it would be the same one, seen from within.
Awake, on the contrary, consciousness seems engaged in matter: it observes, it measures, it acts. And yet it would still shine through it — in those intuitions that arrive before thought, in those moments of recollection where boundaries fade.
Consciousness would therefore not live in two separate regimes: it would live in pulsation — particle, wave, particle, wave — the waking/sleeping cycle being the very breathing of the wave-particle duality applied to consciousness.
Why would waking close access in this way? The mechanism our framework proposes holds in a couple of notions: coherence and decoherence. In quantum physics, a system left to itself can exist in superposition — several states at once, a spread of overlapping waves. But as soon as it is measured, as soon as it is observed and asked "where are you?", the system must answer: it takes on a definite value, a position, a state. This is decoherence — the passage from wave plurality to material singularity (cf. AE-00).
In our framework — and this is a hypothesis, labeled as such — awake, consciousness would be this permanent observer: by measuring the world relentlessly, it would hold it in a state of decoherence, and hold itself in matter, on the particle side. Asleep, it would stop measuring — and fuzziness, plurality, coherence would become possible again. The dream would be this return.
But let us guard against too simple a dichotomy: experience tells us more. Consciousness would not flip between two exclusive states: it would travel along a gradient. Let us consider anesthesia first, for it is medically documented.

A slider, then — not a switch. Consciousness would be working all the time: even awake, it would operate beneath the noise of the busy mind — how else to explain the intuition that surges, the idea that arrives before we have finished thinking? In our framework (and this is a hypothesis, labeled as such): consciousness would work continuously; it would only be more or less heavily damped.
Let us pause on anesthesia, the nocturnal experience inverted, for it is medically mastered — practiced millions of times a year — and yet conceptually unexplained. There exists no material theory that says why a molecule abolishes subjective experience. And the detail is stranger still:
Consciousness would be so delicate that an inert gas can eclipse it. No molecular scissors cut it: a discreet molecule puts it into hibernation. The pianist has rested his hand on the strings: the music stops, the instrument remains.
This is what the work linking anesthesia to microtubules proposes (Craddock, Hameroff, Tuszyński, 2015): the molecules would bind, through weak quantum dispersion forces, to the electron clouds of cerebral proteins — and would dampen the quantum oscillations that carry consciousness there. The exact mechanism remains an active hypothesis, not a consensus; but the starting datum is raw: we know how to make consciousness disappear without knowing what it is. In our framework, this is not a scandal — it is a confirmation in reverse: if the anesthetic were a poison, it would kill; yet it only damps coherence, and everything comes back. Consciousness was not cut off — it was put into hibernation.
There remains the most everyday mystery: if consciousness works every night, why is almost nothing left by morning? Our framework's answer holds in one reversal:
Sleep research indeed documents that dream recall depends almost entirely on waking during or just after the REM phase — the phase of rich dreams. Whatever is not interrupted by waking fades within minutes. The borderline states have names: hypnagogic at falling asleep, hypnopompic at waking — documented in laboratories, they are precisely what researchers use to study dreams, because they occur on the border.
In our vocabulary: during the night, the wave works and writes its journals. Upon waking, decoherence — the return to particle, the resumption of measurement — would print the trace. What we call "the dream" would not be the work itself: it would be the last fraction of wave freezing into particle at the exact moment when the receiver switches back on. We would not remember the dream. We would remember the decoherence.
The dream is the trace left in the sand by the wave's withdrawal — the imprint of decoherence, at the frontier of the absolute and the everyday.
From this, two corollaries in our framework, one established, the other in a note. Lucid dreaming is documented in laboratories: sleepers agreed on eye signals during their REM sleep — consciousness operates knowing that the body's embrace is loosened. It is the particle watching itself not being a particle. As for premonitory and shared dream accounts, abundant in all cultures, they are neither properly confirmed nor refuted: we file them in the column of convergent indicators — massive testimonies, proof absent — exactly like the memory of water (cf. ODC-04). We do not assert them. We merely note that they are told everywhere, since always.
If sleep loosens the body's embrace every night, there exists an experience reported at the other end of the scale: the one where it is no longer consciousness moving away from the body, but the body giving way beneath it. Near-death experiences (NDE) — reported by roughly one cardiac arrest survivor in five in international prospective studies (van Lommel, The Lancet; Parnia, AWARE study) — describe, during measurably failing brain activity, a consciousness more lucid than in waking: without gravity, without place, without time — and returning with a testimony. We do not assert them as proof: the studies themselves note that they could neither absolutely prove nor deny them. We cite them for what they are: the documented extreme of the gradient this document describes — consciousness without density, with the messenger's return. This territory deserves more than a paragraph. It will have its own wave (cf. ODC-08).
